An Indian citizen was killed by gunfire on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

In India it is said that a cargo ship with the country's flag was targeted at the coast of Oman and one of the Indian crew members was killed as a result.

The Indian Shipping Minister said that 14 Indian sailors were present during the ground attack on this oil tanker. According to Indian government officials, 13 crew members were rescued by the Oman Coast Guard.

India is one of the largest suppliers of manpower to the merchant shipping industry in the world. Since the start of the US and Israeli attacks on Iran on February 28, several Indian sailors have been killed in attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

India's foreign ministry has repeatedly condemned the ground attack on commercial ships and demanded to ensure Yemen's undisputed passage through international waters.
