Germany is considering joining the "Global Air Battle Plan".

Boris Pistorius, Germany's defense minister, announced on Monday in Berlin that Germany is considering joining the Global Air Combat Program (GCAP).

Mr. Pistorius said that preliminary discussions have begun for the possibility of Germany joining the joint project of Great Britain, Italy and Japan to build a new generation fighter plane.

Germany's previous plan to build a new generation fighter jet, made with the participation of France and Spain, was stopped at the beginning of the year due to a dispute between the aerospace companies of the three countries.

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham invited Germany to join the World Air Combat Plan on October 8.

At the same time, a consortium of eight companies, including Airbus, offered Germany to take on projects to build a new generation fighter jet. The Swedish airline "Saab" was also mentioned as a possible partner of Germany and Airbus.
