Jeddy Vance, the vice president of the United States, told reporters on Monday evening that the indirect consultation with Iran had made "progress" in his opinion, which could lead to a new round of negotiations with Iran.
According to him, "We had many talks with the Iranians. Actually, I spoke with the President of the United States about an hour ago. You see, both the President and I feel good about the prospect of a negotiated agreement. We will continue our efforts in this area."
Vice President Donald Trump emphasized that in these negotiations, the White House is focused on what he called "ensuring that Iran does not obtain a nuclear weapon" and "Iran is also clear that it insists on its territorial integrity."
Mr. Vance, in response to a question about a possible target date to reach a conclusion of the negotiations before Donald Trump's decision on a new ground military attack on Iran, said that there is no such date.
