Iran's foreign minister says that the consultation with the mediators regarding the situation of the Strait of Hormuz has become more intense.
Abbas Irakchi, who is staying in Turkmenistan, told the state news agency IRNA: "Due to the sensitivity of the current situation and the severity of the situation, the consultations were very intense. Qatar and Pakistan play a very active role as mediators.
Three days of Iran's negotiations with the Qataris ended yesterday without any particular result and the Iranian delegation returned to Tehran today.
Mr. Iraqi emphasized that Iran has stated its conditions and offer and now "everything depends on Washington's political rationality."
Iran's foreign minister said that only by accepting Iran's conditions, "the Strait of Hormuz will be opened and negotiations will be renewed" and if America "intends deception and military action, they will see a more bitter and heavy reaction than before". He said of Ali Bagri Keni's trip to Beijing, the deputy secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council held consultations with Chinese officials on various issues, including "key regional discussions, security and peace and war issues."
China's Foreign Ministry said today that the country's special envoy will visit Iran, Oman and Saudi Arabia in the next two weeks.
