The Persian Gulf Cooperation Council strongly condemned the ground attack on a Qatari ship carrying liquefied gas and demanded that the perpetrators be brought to justice.

Jassim Mohammed Badiwi, Secretary General of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, described in statements this ground attack as a "dangerous escalation of tensions.

Mr. Badiwi emphasized that maritime security in the Persian Gulf is "the cornerstone of regional stability and the global economy."

He warned that focusing on oil tankers and gas-carrying ships could disrupt global energy supplies, destabilize markets and harm the marine environment.

Earlier, the Qatar Gas Company announced that a tanker carrying liquefied natural gas of this company named "Al-Maida" was hit by an "unknown missile" while passing through the Persian Gulf on the evening of Friday, October 30.

According to this report, no one from the ship's crew was injured and this incident did not cause any kind of environmental pollution.

Qatar Gas Transport Company confirmed that the vessel is in Yemen and still operational. 📷 Gallo/Orbital Ofek images/Copernicus Sentinel 2026 data.
