Changing the place of detention of Abdullah Ocalan in prison.
Sources close to Abdullah Ocalan, founder of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), say he has been moved to a new ward inside his prison near Istanbul.
Several media outlets in Turkey reported that Mr. Ocalan himself "announced the news of his transfer" by quoting Pervin Bolden, a representative of the "Blood" party.
Mr. Bolden emphasized that "this new place is part of that prison and not somewhere outside of it."
In August, the Turkish parliament approved a law that would consider a limited amnesty for members of the Kurdish PKK militia as an important step in the peace process.
However, the duty of Mr. O'Clan, 77, who has been in prison since 1999, is not specified in this law.
