The Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces: We will not wait for the enemy to act.
The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces said: "Every time the signs of the enemy's hostile action are confirmed, the militant armed forces will not wait for the start of its action in choosing the time and method of response."
The head of the army division, Ali Abdallahi, wrote in a message on the X social network "We are monitoring the enemy's movements and preparations with all the information capacity and updating the target bank."
He said today and earlier in another announcement that "it is necessary to maintain critical infrastructure and assets under passive defense measures."
During the recent wars, some internal criticisms were raised about Iran's passive defense method and related policies. Passive defense means civil defense of facilities, vital and sensitive assets, military population and civilians. At the same time, the head of the army brigade, Ali Abdallahi, is the commander of the central headquarters of Khatamal Anbia, responsible for the war and its affairs, and he made these statements at the same time as the military threats to Iran increased, including threats to some of the country's infrastructure.
A few hours ago, Mujtaba Khamenei's official website reported that in a "meeting" with the commanders of the Iranian armed forces, including Mr. Abdullahi, he ordered them to respond "immediately and without geographical limitations" to any threat from the enemy.
New statements attributed to him in a meeting with senior military commanders were published at the same time as tensions between Iran and the US regarding Israeli prisoners and the possibility of renewed military strikes in Iran.
