Qatar, once one of the world's largest exporters of liquefied natural gas, has signed a 20-year contract to import gas from the United States.

Since the war between America and Israel and the restriction of traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, gas production in Qatar has decreased significantly.

By signing this agreement, the government company "Qatar Energy" will purchase three million tons of natural gas annually from a gas production company in the state of Louisiana in the United States. Delivery of liquid gas shipments will begin in 2030.

Analysts say that the long-term nature of this agreement shows that Qatar believes that the Straits of Hormuz crisis will not be resolved anytime soon.
