Kuwait summoned the Iranian ambassador Earlier we reported that the Iranian embassy in Kuwait issued a statement saying that no Iranian citizen was involved in the plan to assassinate my life in Kuwait. This statement called the Kuwaiti court's decision in this context "against the principle of good neighborliness." It is now reported that Kuwait summoned the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran following the publication of this statement and called it "an example of interference in its internal affairs". After summoning the Iranian ambassador, Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement that the country rejects any interference in rulings given by Kuwaiti courts and asked Iran to adhere to international law and the United Nations Charter, and especially to the principle of good neighborliness. Relations between Iran and Kuwait have been strained for months after the war between America and Israel with Iran, but the two countries have maintained the level of relations until now.
