President of the United States Donald Trump said on Tuesday, October 27 during his midterm election campaign in Texas: "Maybe one day in the near future it will become the 50th state of the United States." In part of his speech, Mr. Trump called America's relationship with Venezuela "excellent" and said that "billions of dollars are being invested there by the biggest oil companies, many of them from Texas." He said that "we produce a lot of oil for ourselves" Venezuela "will become a rich country" and "maybe one day in the near future it will become the 51st state of the United States". Donald Trump enters the final week of the last midterm elections of his political career and is in a desperate bid to retain traditional Republican bases against Democratic candidates who have proven unexpectedly competitive.
