The elections on Tuesday in Shabi, which were held with the participation of 77% of the residents of this country, have now reached the stage of counting the votes and determining the results.
No party has ever won an absolute majority of the seats in the captive parliament alone; For this reason, governments have always been formed through a coalition of parties.
After the votes are counted, the captive president consults with party leaders and then asks the person he thinks has the best chance of forming a government to form a coalition.
This person has 28 days to form the government, and if necessary, he can get another 14 days. If the negotiations do not succeed during this period, the president can ask another candidate to try to form the government.
After the 2022 elections, the Likud party led by Benjamin Netanyahu became the largest party by winning 32 of the 120 seats in the Knesset. Netanyahu then formed a coalition with several far-right parties and together with his allies won a majority of 64 seats.
