Reuters: Iran gave tens of millions of dollars to Hezbollah in Lebanon to strengthen its military capabilities.

The Reuters news agency, citing a knowledgeable source close to Hezbollah, says that this group received tens of millions of dollars in aid from Iran to strengthen its military capabilities.

According to Reuters, this sum is added to the 200 million dollars that Hezbollah received from Iran to help the displaced families in the Shiite areas under its influence.

The IDF and the Iranian representative at the UN refused to comment on this matter.

In response to questions from Reuters, Hezbollah's communications ministry said that the occupation of Lebanon by Israeli prisoners makes any opposition to it a legitimate right.

A spokesman for the US State Department said that Washington will continue to exert heavy pressure on Hezbollah's financial resources through sanctions and other measures. The spokesman for the US Treasury Department also emphasized that Iran faces a lack of financial resources and restrictions on money transfer methods.
