Guterres: A large-scale war in the Persian Gulf must be avoided at all costs.
The UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, said that it is "essential" to "avoid any escalation" in the Middle East.
At a press conference in Cairo, Mr. Guterres said in response to a question about the increase in American threats and the possibility of reaching an agreement with Iran: "A large-scale military ground attack against Iran and a large-scale military ground attack by Iran against the countries of the (Persian) Gulf region must be prevented at all costs.
