In today's meeting, Esmail Bakai confirmed the reports of a Qatari delegation visiting Iran in response to a question.

He said that this trip was both "bilateral" in nature and related to Qatar's "mediator" role in the negotiations between Iran and the US.

Reuters reported yesterday that Qatar's mediation effort was carried out in coordination with the United States.

The Qatari newspaper Arabi Jadid also wrote yesterday in an exclusive report that a Qatari delegation is in Tehran to "prevent an increase in tension".

Before the official publication of the news, several unverified reports told of a Qatari plane landing in Tehran.
