The Reuters news agency reported, citing two knowledgeable sources, that senior officials of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan, the three member countries of the "Mecca Agreement", are to discuss regional coordination with Iranian officials on Monday, October 26, in Tehran.

According to these sources, who did not want to be named, Khaled bin Salman, the defense minister of Saudi Arabia, and Wasim Munir, the commander of the Pakistani army, will be present in this negotiation. One of the sources also said that the head of the Turkish intelligence organization will also participate in this meeting.

The Saudi government's communications ministry and the Pakistani military's public relations department did not respond to a Reuters request for comment on the report.

If these negotiations take place, it will be the first high-level contact between Iran and all three member states of the Mecca Treaty since the escalation of Yemen's Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia.

On Sunday, Saudi Arabia intercepted another wave of Houthi missile and drone attacks. These attacks continue as the conflict between Saudi Arabia and the Iran-backed Houthis escalated.
