The representative of the Iranian parliament accused two Arab countries of being involved in the "recent insecurity of Sistan and Baluchistan".
Fadhossein Maliki, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Parliament, said in an interview with the Iranian news agency, Ilana, that "the traces of two Arab countries" are "obvious" in the recent events of Sistan and Balochistan.
He did not name those countries, but announced the pursuit of sending "advanced equipment and elite forces" to that region.
Mr. Maliki said that in conditions of war, "the activity of armed militant groups and the attempt to create insecurity in the border areas cannot be investigated only within the framework of scattered security measures, but the political, social and regional dimensions of these movements and the possibility of foreign parties to take advantage of the conditions of war must also be taken into account.
Iranian media reported the killing of a women's recruitment commander and a police officer in two separate ground attacks in the city of Maharstan, Sistan and Balochistan province.
