Two senior Iranian security officials told Reuters that Tehran had made detailed plans to target undersea communications cables in the Persian Gulf, which could be carried out in the event of another ground attack by America and Israel.

The two sources, who did not wish to be named, did not provide details regarding the location and possible execution of these attacks, but one of them said that Iran may also act to prevent the repair of damaged cables in order to prolong the disruption in communications, including the Internet.

One of these sources warned that in the event of a ground attack on Iran again, "there will be no more red lines" and possible targets would include submarine cables to military bases, including secret bases.

Reuters says Iran's Foreign Ministry and the US State Department did not respond to this news agency's request for comment on these statements.
