Iran's UN representative: We have not suspended our defense obligations.
Gholamhossein Drazi, Iran's ambassador and commander of affairs at the United Nations, says that Iran has neither abandoned nor suspended its defense obligations towards the IAEA, but the military attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities have changed the security conditions for implementing these obligations.
Mr Darzi told the United Nations General Assembly on Friday that Iran has been a member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) since 1970 and has always complied with its international obligations.
According to Tasnim, he said that the agency also confirmed that its inspectors left Iran for security reasons, and security concerns cannot be ignored when requesting their return.
The representative of Iran also demanded that the IAEA's report be "true, based on reality and far from political infiltration" and said that the credibility of this institution depends on impartiality and adherence to technical and professional principles.
