Netanyahu says he has reviewed the plan for a "comprehensive and unprecedented" operation in the West Bank.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he has reviewed the plan for a military operation that is "unprecedented since 1967."
Mr. Netanyahu proposed this plan shortly after the militant armed ground attack in Hebron that resulted in the killing of two Israeli prisoners and the wounding of three other soldiers, and according to him he will determine the date of its execution.
According to the AFP news agency, Mr. Netanyahu, who is in the midst of a close race for the new election period, said that the first step would include "displacing the residents, searching the houses and destroying the liquidation infrastructure."
Meanwhile, Hamas, without taking responsibility for the ground attack, hailed it as a "heroic operation" and called on its supporters to carry out more attacks.
