Golf ball-sized hail fell in the US state of Arizona, reportedly damaging homes, windows and car windows.
Photos released from Phoenix, this nation's capital, show the moment the hail hit the window of a car whose passengers were looking inside the car.
Heavy rain covered the neighborhoods in layers of ice. A warning was issued as the storm began in the area.
