The US State Department has issued a travel advisory for US citizens warning them of the French intercepts and demonstrations planned for Saturday, October 24 - November 3.
The US State Department's statement on Thursday said:
"Violence and unrest related to the current interceptions have recently occurred in France and are likely to continue. The French government has announced that it will act to curb "illegal" interceptions, but will allow rallies organized by groups such as trade unions.
And also be warned that:
"Due to the increased security concerns, avoid participating in demonstrations and restless areas and stay away from crowded places or areas where a large presence of police forces is observed. Several groups have applied for permission to conduct interceptions on Saturday, October 24. "American citizens who are in Paris to watch the national football game on Sunday, October 25 should also exercise caution and be aware of their surroundings."
