Azana's prosecutor says he arrested a man on charges of "organizing the riots of last December".

Iranian news agencies reported the arrest of a man they said was "one of the organizers of last month's riots" in Iran, citing the revolutionary public prosecutor of the city of Azana - in western Lorstan province.

According to these reports, Azana's prosecutor said that "the intelligence organization of the Revolutionary Guards, in cooperation with other local intelligence agencies and after months of surveillance, identified this person and arrested him in a surprise operation."

In this report, the detainee's name was not specified, his official charges were not specified, and the exact date of his arrest and location were not given.

During the interceptions in January last year in the city of Azana, the protesters lit a large fire in front of the central police station, and the Iranian media later reported that at least three people were killed during the clashes. However, Thursday's news in the Iranian media did not mention any connection between this incident and the detainee.

Thousands of protesters were killed and injured during the bloody crackdown on these intercepts in hundreds of cities in Iran.
