The representatives of the Houthis in Yemen "were banned from political and media activity in Iraq".

Reports indicate that the Iraqi government imposed restrictions on Yemen's Houthi representatives in Baghdad and prohibited them from carrying out political and media activities in their territory.

According to reports, these instructions include Houthis who have been in Iraq since 2018 and are part of the organization known as the "Ansar Allah Representative Office".

The BBC's monitoring department quoted al-Arabi al-Jadid, a Qatari media outlet operating in London, and reported the words of an Iraqi official that based on these measures, members of the Iran-backed Houthi movement living in Iraq were prohibited from holding meetings, holding press conferences or seminars, and holding legislative activities in Iraq.

He explained that the Iraqi government designated specific places for the representatives of this group and ordered them to announce their plans before the trips. Earlier this week, one of the decisions of the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization for Salam Cooperation, directed by Baghdad, demanded that the member governments refrain from facilitating the visit of the representative of the Houthis to Tehran and "hand him over to the government of the Republic of Yemen if he is in their territory."
