Saudi-led military coalition: five drones were intercepted, including in the Medina region.
The Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthis in Yemen announced that it had intercepted five drones flying towards Saudi Arabia.
One of the target areas of these attacks was declared in the country.
Medina, the burial place of the Prophet of Islam and Masjid al-Nabi, is one of the most Muslim cities, near Mecca.
The Houthis promised not to launch a ground attack on the two cities of Mecca and Medina.
"Four drones launched at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were intercepted and destroyed," coalition spokesman Turki al-Malki wrote in a message on X.
In the second message, he wrote that these drones were intercepted in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia and the Medina region.
Mr. al-Maliki, without mentioning the cause of these attacks, later announced that another drone had been intercepted in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia.
In recent weeks, Saudi Arabia has been the target of continuous attacks by the Iran-backed Houthis.
