Iraqi Abbas, Iran's foreign minister, says his country still exchanges views with the United States through Qatar and Pakistan.

Mr. Irakchi, who spoke in an interview with Al-Akhabariya Iraq on Tuesday, also emphasized: "The Strait of Hormuz is not an international strait, but it is located in the territorial waters of Iran and Oman. The waters of this strait are not international waters.

Iran's foreign minister told Al-Ahabria that Tehran and Muscat have reached an agreement on the details of shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz: "Specific maps of these routes have been prepared and their geographic coordinates have been determined and drawn." Therefore, if one day the Strait of Hormuz opens, the route agreed upon by Iran and Oman will be the true and agreed route for the passage of ships. There is no other way."

Mr. Irakichi said Tehran was still in contact and negotiating with the United States through Qatar and Pakistan. 📷ATTA KENARE / AFP via Getty Images.
