British anti-assassination police have re-arrested two men who were arrested following the security incident at Farford Air Base.

According to the police, a 24-year-old British citizen and a 25-year-old man with dual British-Iranian citizenship are currently being held on suspicion of collaborating with a foreign intelligence service.

Lawrence Taylor, assistant commissioner and head of the National Anti-Assassination Police, said: "This investigation is ongoing and the evidence gathering process is ongoing; but at this time our position has not changed; we assume that the Iranian government has a role in this story."

He added: "Our researchers are still investigating the dimensions of this disorder and the motives behind it."

Following this incident, which occurred in the early hours of September 27 (October 5), many British officials, including Andy Burnham, the Prime Minister and Ken McCallum, the head of MI5 (the British internal intelligence agency), blamed the Iranian government and the Revolutionary Guards in connection with this incident.
