French authorities say a bus collided with a freight train in the Channel Tunnel near the entrance to France, injuring the driver and 18 passengers. The bus, which was due to arrive in the UK on a commuter train, collided with a train on Thursday at the tunnel loading dock in Kokole, near Calais. The bus driver and the seriously injured passenger were taken to the hospital by helicopter. According to a local official, it is not expected that anyone was killed in this incident. The local governor Agate Kuri said that except for a short stop to evacuate the injured, the movement of passengers on the freight and Eurostar trains through the tunnel was not interrupted. An investigation has been launched into how this incident happened. "There were two trains on either side of the platform," Ms Currie said. "One of them loaded heavy vehicles to travel through the English Channel, and another train, which was loaded earlier, left the station." "For an unknown reason, the bus collided with a moving train," he said. » Bernard Baron / AFP via Getty Images.
