Using dedicated artificial intelligence tools, BBC Verify reviewed more than 60,000 news reports and examined hundreds of cases in which the Israel Defense Forces were accused of harming civilians since the start of the war in Gaza. After a comprehensive manual review of each case, we found 300 cases that the IDF said it was investigating; in only 28 cases were the results published on the IDF website. About 18 more cases, it was not clear whether the investigation was finished or not.
