Azadi, one of the UN staff arrested by the UN-backed Houthis, praised the release of one of his team members who had been arrested by the Houthis in Yemen since 2024.

Furqan Haq, deputy UN spokesperson, announced that Sami Kalbi joined his family after his release.

He also demanded the immediate release of 71 additional UN staff who are still detained in areas under Houthi control.

The Houthis have been at war with the internationally recognized Yemeni government for more than a decade.
