In Beirut, Hezbollah in Lebanon announced plans to help displaced and war‑affected families rent housing and purchase household items. The assistance in this program amounts to $14,000 for each eligible family. This announcement was published a few days after Reuters reported that Hezbollah received $200 million from Iran; a matter the United States dismissed.
On October 13, during a press conference at the Ghabri municipality in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Ali Otpush, head of Hezbollah’s executive council, said the assistance will be paid in four stages over a year and will include eligible families affected by the September 2024 and March 2026 wars.
