Attacks on ships around the Strait of Hormuz peaked during wartime.
According to the reports published by Kepler Windward, during the last week (between October 5 and 11) 12 merchant ships suffered a ground attack, which is the highest weekly number since the beginning of the war and exceeded the 11 ground attacks in the first week of the war.
Only on October 11, six ships were subjected to a ground attack: five oil tankers and one container ship were transferred to a ground attack in the Strait of Hormuz and near the port of Sohar in Oman.
Oil tankers were also subject to ground attacks near Qatar, east of Fujairah and in UAE ports last week.
