The Wall Street Journal reported, citing knowledgeable sources, that Iran is strengthening its defense capabilities, mobilizing its supporters and threatening a broader and stronger response against America and its allies in the Persian Gulf.

According to this report, Tehran is preparing for the possibility of American attacks after the mid-term elections in America and is trying to prevent such attacks by these means.

The US midterm elections will be held in the first week of November.

In public statements and in private talks with regional officials, Iranian officials have warned that if America carries out new strikes, the Islamic Republic will further widen the range of tensions across the Middle East.
