Saudi Arabia's investigations into the performance of its air defense following the deadly attacks at the airport in Riyadh
Reports indicate that Saudi Arabia has launched an investigation to investigate the cause of the failure of its air defense systems to intercept missiles and drones fired by the Houthis in Yemen.
The Houthis in Yemen have carried out three deadly attacks at the airport in Riyadh in recent days.
The Associated Press, citing two regional sources, reported that preliminary investigations indicate that the Houthis first launched several drones to prepare the ground for cruise missiles and ballistic missiles that would pass through the defense barrier and hit the airport.
According to one of these sources, another goal of this investigation is to determine the reason for not giving an early warning of these attacks by the air defense systems.
The Saudi Arabian capital's international airport was closed until at least Saturday (October 17) following these attacks, and airlines suspended their flights to Riyadh.
