Ismail Bakai, the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, responded to the recent words of US President Donald Trump in his weekly meeting with journalists and said: "If the Strait of Hormuz is open, why is the US reaching out to Russia to get diesel fuel."
Mr. Bagai refers to the agreement for the sale of Russian diesel to the USA, which was announced in recent days by the President of the United States Donald Trump, which was accompanied by the negative reaction of the President of Ukraine.
Mr. Bakay also said: "Each country makes decisions based on its interests and we make decisions based on that, and for that reason, this agreement was between Russia and the US, but regardless of that, it is significant that if the problem of the Strait of Hormuz was solved, how could the American side reach Russia in this regard to solve some of its problems."
