The attack on the Saudi airport entered a new phase in the Middle East equation

John Danson: BBC reporter in Jerusalem within the so-called "Axis of Resistance", the Houthis are considered one of Iran's most important strategic partners. The Red Sea shipping route became more and more important; Because the Strait of Hormuz, on the other side of the Persian Gulf, has not yet been fully reopened. This situation continued while Iran and America were unable to reach an agreement to end the war. Targeting ships in the Red Sea is another way the Houthis are trying to apply pressure. These attacks cause economic losses worldwide and this issue has become one of Tehran's most important bargaining tools. The White House announced in early September that it does not intend to intervene directly in the war in Yemen, but may provide intelligence support to Saudi Arabia. The White House later confirmed that it had provided information to Saudi Arabia and sent military experts to the country. However, it appears that the recent attack on Riyadh, which resulted in the death of an American citizen, may have brought the situation to a new level. In a conversation with journalists, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, described the attack on Saturday as "terrible" and spoke of the possibility of an American military intervention alongside Saudi Arabia. However, it now appears that the possibility of such interventions is not very high, at least before the decisive midterm elections in the United States next month.
