Organization for the Protection of the Environment: The attack in Asaloya caused the release of thousands of tons of pollutants Shina Ansari, head of the Organization for the Protection of the Environment of Iran, says that the American and Israeli attacks on tanks and fuel storage facilities in the city of Asaloya in southern Iran caused widespread air pollution and the release of greenhouse gases. Ms. Ansari, who spoke at the "Silent War Crimes" conference, referring to the dimensions of the pollution caused by the attacks on the energy facilities of Asloy, said: "During the attacks on the fuel tanks and the Asloy facilities alone, in short periods of several days, approximately 9,400 tons of volatile particles, 70 volatile components, more than 4 volatile organs, 13,000 tons of nitrogen oxides were released." He said about greenhouse gas emissions during these attacks: "In addition to air pollutants, one and a half million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent entered the atmosphere as one of the main indicators of greenhouse gas emissions." According to Mrs. Ansari, the end of the conflicts does not mean the end of the environmental effects of the war, and the environmental consequences of the wars may remain for years and even generations. Asalouye is located along the southern coast of Iran and is considered one of the main centers of the country's petrochemical and natural gas industries.
