Iman Shamsei, head of the media center of the Iranian parliament, wrote in response to the MP's criticism of the seven-month closure of the public forum: "What caused the closing of the forum's personal meetings is not to save the life of the speaker of the parliament. Instead, it is not the pearl-quorum of the parliament."
He also said: "If the parliament has less than 192 representatives, it is no longer possible to hold it. Therefore, they must not all be together. "But with martyrdom or the death of a representative at any level, other representatives can replace his legal status in the parliament, but the only way to compensate for the loss of the quorum is through elections."
Earlier, Amirosin Sebati, a representative of the Stability Front and a figure close to Saeed Jalili in the Iranian parliament, strongly criticized the seven-month closure of the Iranian parliament, saying that while the parliament was closed, Mr. Halivaf, Raden and a group of commanders attended conferences.
Mr. Sabati said that he came to the conclusion that "there is a political will behind the closing of the parliament so that the voices of the representatives are not heard." He questioned the presence of the Speaker of the Parliament, Mohammad Bakr Khalibaf, Ahmadreja Radan, the Chief of Police of Iran, and a number of military commanders in conferences and media programs, and raised the question of how the meetings of the Parliament are held, but not the gathering of these personalities, who, according to him, are at a higher risk of assassination than the members of the Parliament.
