Britain has announced Pega Ahangarni's "Revolutionary Exercises," which won the Golden Eye Award for Best Documentary at this year's Cannes Film Festival, as its representative in the Best International Feature Film section of the 2027 Academy Awards.

The Hollywood Reporter magazine says, "Pega Ahangarni wrote the film in the UK over two and a half years, researched and edited it and collaborated with a group of British colleagues along the way."

Earlier this year, this film premiered in the Special Screenings section of the Cannes Film Festival, and has since screened at the Telluride Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival.

"Rehearsal for a Revolution" was released in the UK in September.

In this film, using personal archives, home videos, street-intercept photos, newspapers and audio recordings, Mrs. Ahangarni retold more than 40 years of Iranian history.
