UKTMO: Several ships near Ras al-Khaimah ordered to change location. The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) says it has received reports from several ship captains that they were ordered to leave their anchorage near Ras al-Khaimah in the UAE via VHF radio communication. UKMTO has not released further details on the reason for the order, the source of the message, or the number of ships affected. This warning was issued after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy announced that an "offender" supertanker struck a sea mine in the Strait of Hormuz while passing through a route Iran calls "unauthorized" and suffered an explosion and fire. The IRGC did not announce the name or flag of this oil tanker and has previously warned that ships passing through "unauthorized" routes will be prosecuted. Currently, it is unclear whether the order to move ships near Ras al-Khaimah is related to the oil tanker accident in the Strait of Hormuz.
