Revolutionary Guards: The offending tanker exploded when it collided with a naval mine in the Strait of Hormuz

The Public Relations of the Revolutionary Guards Navy announced that a "Hebrew" tanker carrying crude oil exploded when it collided with a sea mine while exiting the "unauthorized" Strait of Hormuz.

This statement read: "This supertanker turned off its navigation and positioning systems and caught fire after hitting a mine."

The Revolutionary Guards did not mention the name or flag of this tanker.

The Naval Command of the Revolutionary Guards previously said in a statement: "Any vessel that passes through the unauthorized passage will be pursued throughout the region and the punishment will be decisive."

Iran says that the ships should pass through the Strait of Hormuz on a route determined by this country.

According to reports, some ships and oil tankers are using an alternate route established in recent weeks to bypass the restrictions announced by Iran.
