Foreign embassies in Saudi Arabia have warned their citizens to stay away from the airport after the Iran-backed Houthi ground attack on Riyadh International Airport and the suspension of flights.
Great Britain, Canada, Germany, Spain asked their citizens not to come to the airport and to follow the security instructions of the local authorities.
Britain's Foreign Office also asked its citizens to avoid going there until King Khalid International Airport is secured and to follow the announcements of the Saudi authorities.
A Western diplomat told AFP that several embassies had advised their staff not to use the airport for a week as a precaution.
The French embassy also advised its citizens to exercise caution in Saudi Arabia due to the Houthi attacks in recent days. The embassy also asked French citizens to refrain from photographing the target areas of the ground attack and to publish these images in cyberspace.
