More than 50 "combat and support units" of the army's ground forces have been deployed at the borders
Commander of the Army of the Republic of Iran Salami says that with the beginning of the 40-day war, "more than 50 combat and support units of the ground forces, including mobile, reaction, armored and mechanized brigades, and artillery, engineering, missile and drone units" were deployed within the country's borders.
Ali Jahanshahi said that these units are deployed "from northwest to west and southwest and from east to southeast of the country and Makran beaches."
According to the commander of the army's ground forces, after the 12-day war, "the operational plans were revised, the structure and organization of the war were changed, and on the agenda was equipping the units with new weapons capable of precise targeting, intelligence and network connectivity."
According to him, "many long channels and tunnels" and "protection trenches" were built to prevent damage to equipment and to maintain the readiness of the units. Mr. Jahanshahi said that "intelligence" and "detection" measures were taken all over the country to "deal with the possibility of the presence of the enemy within the territory of Iran" and the areas where there is a possibility of "the landing of enemy planes or their presence, including abandoned airports, have been identified and the units required to deal with them have been identified."
The commander of the army's ground forces also said in his release: "About 10 brigades from the army's ground forces are also stationed on the shores of Makran and the Sea of Oman and are performing their duties in accordance with the tasks assigned to them."
