🔻 Intensification of the battle around the Strait of Babylon Mandav

According to the AFP news agency, the Saudi-backed forces said that the country's forces are advancing against the Houthis in the areas surrounding the Strait of Belmandab, but they have not yet taken control of this waterway.

Last week, the Saudi-backed forces in Yemen announced the start of a ground counter-offensive with the aim of recapturing all areas controlled by the Houthis.

In the past, the Houthis confirmed the ground attack by the Saudi-backed forces into the Belamnadab area, but they said they repelled that ground attack.

AFP says military sources on both sides told this news agency on Saturday that clashes in western Yemen, particularly around this strait, have left at least 63 dead in the past 24 hours.

A few weeks ago, Yemen's Houthis, supported by Iran, captured the entire western coastal strip of Yemen in a lightning operation.
