Putin "supports" the continuation of talks between Iran and America through Qatar
Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, told reporters today that most of the phone call between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump last night was devoted to Ukraine, but he conveyed Iran's views to the Russian president.
Yuri Ushkov, an aide to the Russian president, said a few hours ago that in this phone call, Mr. Putin welcomed the continuation of the dialogue between the United States and Iran through Qatar.
He said Mr. Putin emphasized that Russia's proposal to transfer highly enriched uranium from Iran to Russia was still on the agenda.
Mr Ushkov also said the two presidents may hold a face-to-face meeting during the OPEC summit in China on November 18 and 19, although this was not discussed in yesterday's phone call.
