🔻 The vote of confidence in Iran's proposed defense minister will take place on October 26 in a virtual vote.
The member of the presiding committee of the Iranian Parliament announced that the vote of confidence in the proposal of the Minister of Defense of Iran will take place next Sunday, October 26.
Ahmed Nadri told the ISNA news agency: "Now, due to the current special conditions, the vote for the defense minister's proposal will be virtual and we will not have a paper vote."
Last week, and seven months after Aziz Nasirzadeh, the defense minister, was killed in a simultaneous ground attack between Israeli and US prisoners, the Iranian president presented Mehrad Ahli as the proposed defense minister to the parliament.
Mr. Ahli is one of the managers of Iran's aerospace industry and is on the sanctions list of the European Union and the United States.
Due to the conditions of the war, the Iranian parliament does not convene in its permanent headquarters, known as Bharstan, and representatives mainly attend meetings through webinars. The vote of confidence in Mehredad Ahli is the first vote of confidence in the history of the Iranian parliament, held in the form of an online seminar.
