Negotiations between America, Ukraine and Europe in Miami to develop a joint plan to end the war

American, Ukrainian and European negotiators spoke for six hours on Friday in Miami to reach an agreement on a joint proposal to end the war in Ukraine.

A source familiar with the negotiations told Reuters that the goal is to reach an agreement on such a proposal in the coming weeks to be presented to Russia to achieve an opening before winter.

The meeting was attended by Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, US envoys, the Ukrainian delegation, and representatives from Europe and NATO.

According to the source, the negotiations included a post-war package for Ukraine, which included American and European security guarantees, an economic plan for Ukraine's reconstruction, and the country's path to EU membership.

The parties also discussed "several ideas" related to the issue of disputed territories, though no details were provided. The future security framework between Europe and Russia was also discussed.

These negotiations were held on the same day Donald Trump announced the agreement with Russia to supply diesel to global markets and the US government suspended some Russian fuel sanctions; this action was criticized by Volodymyr Zelenskyy and several US lawmakers.

Zelenskyy said that the revenue from the sale of Russian fuel will be dedicated to the war against Ukraine and added that the Ukrainian team should not be a "cover" for such an agreement.

After calling Trump, Vladimir Putin also said that an immediate resumption of peace negotiations is unlikely, and he saw Ukrainian drone attacks on Moscow as one of the reasons for this.
