Russia: Ukraine's attacks destroyed the possibility of an immediate resumption of tripartite negotiations
The Kremlin says Russian President Vladimir Putin told Donald Trump in a phone call that Ukrainian drone attacks on Moscow and other Russian cities during last month's parliamentary elections destroyed the possibility of an immediate resumption of tripartite peace talks.
Yuri Ushkov, the Russian president's foreign policy aide, said Putin told Trump that the attacks on Moscow, other cities, polling centers and some people connected to the election "actually delay the possibility of an immediate resumption of negotiations."
Ushkov added that Russia will now check when the negotiations can be resumed with the presence of the United States, Russia and Ukraine.
He also said that Putin and Trump discussed important economic plans in that conversation, including the possibility of Russian fuel supplies. Trump previously said that Russia has agreed to supply diesel fuel to the American and global market.
