The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has announced that he has appointed Katie Zakaria as the new spokeswoman for the White House.
Ms. Zachariah is currently the Senior Advisor for "Social Truth" Communications at the Trump Media and Technology Group. He was previously the spokesman and deputy assistant secretary for public affairs for the US Department of Homeland Security.
In announcing this appointment, Mr. Trump described Zakaria as his "loyal and brilliant supporter" and said he was confident he would achieve "strong results for the country" and work well with the media, the American people and his administration.
He succeeds Carolyn Leavitt, who stepped down as White House press secretary in August.
