American sailors were reunited with their families as the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln returned to California.

This ship returned to port in San Diego, California after more than 10 months of missions, including operations in the Middle East during the war with Iran.

This ship, numbering about five thousand people, was sent to the Middle East in February 2026 after the start of the war between America and Israel and remained in the region until the end of August.

The long mission was accompanied by a lack of water and food, plumbing problems and concerns about the crew's mental health.

The US Navy announced that eight sailors in the battle group of this ship had committed suicide.
