Two witnesses at Riyadh airport told Agence France-Presse that after the Houthis in Yemen claimed to have carried out a series of attacks at the airport on Thursday, a plane belonging to the national airline of Saudi Arabia sustained visible damage.
Earlier, a source familiar with the matter told Agence France-Presse that at least one plane suffered catastrophic damage at the airport, while a second source said three planes were damaged.
The Houthis in Yemen reported three separate ground attacks on the airport on Thursday. The sound of several explosions was heard throughout the capital and the Saudi-led forces announced that they had intercepted the missiles fired at the airport.
These two witnesses said the fuselage of a Saudi plane parked at Terminal 4 had visible damage, including cracks and holes. This terminal is currently used by Saudi Arabia and Riyadh for domestic flights.
